Method Man Calls Atlanta The New New York
In addition, the Tical album creator spoke on the breaking down of race and gender barriers in Hip Hop. Meth also addressed modern male Hip Hop stars - like Atlanta's Young Thug- embracing androgyny.
"It’s cool when one person is doing it, and you say, 'OK, that’s his thing,' but then when it becomes a trend…They’re basically doing what rock ‘n’ rollers did with the fingernail-painting, the long hair, jumpin’ in the crowd—they want to be rock stars now. Be that, but don’t call it hip-hop. I think it’s different, but it has its place," said the 47-year-old.
Meth continued, "Would I rather sit there and listen to Rakim at a concert? Probably. I would love to listen to Rakim all day on my radio. But nowadays, if I’m at a concert, I’m gonna see Kendrick, I’m gonna see Rae Sremmurd, I’m gonna see these artists that turn up the way I would be doing if I was makin’ that kind of music."

Method Man On Disrespecting Tupac
Method Man speaks on respecting OG's in new interview.
Method Man and the rest of the Wu-Tang Clan have been around for long enough that they could conceivably be considered OG's by this point. That being said, he still feels the need to show his respect for those who came before him, and he has some thoughts about new rappers who fail to show reverence to their forebearers.
In a new interview with The Daily Beast, Meth speaks on his status as the only rapper to ever make tracks with both Biggie and Tupac, and who he thinks was the culprit in Tupac and Biggie's murders (Orlando Anderson and Wardell "Poochie" Fouse, respectively). Eventually the topic turns to Lil Xan, who has experienced an extreme amount of animosity for his dismissive comments about Tupac's music. Meth clearly doesn't agree with Xan's comments, saying that, "people were tryin’ to say, 'So what if he’s not rockin’ with Tupac? He has a right to say that,' and it’s like, no, he don’t got a right to say that. The only reason he has a right to say that is because Pac did that shit first. Pac walked so they could run."
His anger isn't directed at Xan, specifically, but rather at those who are unable to honor the hardships older rappers went through in order for others to succeed. He followed up by explaining, "That’s like me tryin’ to shit on N.W.A. It’s because of N.W.A that I don’t got a sense of my fuckin’ curse words on my records and I can say 'fuck the police' and get away with that shit if I wanted to."
He goes on in the full interview to speak on Cardi B, Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, U-God's memoirs, and how Atlanta is the new New York.

Method Man Battles High Altitude During X-Games Performance
The legendary Wu-Tang rapper slash How High star has become one of hip-hop's most respected figures, continuously blessing the stage with lit live performances for years. On Saturday, Method Man found himself on some mountains in Aspen, Colorado, where he found himself engaged in a Revenant-esque battle with the elements. With altitudes of over 8,000 feet, Meth soon realized that the seemingly effortless task of breathing had become increasingly difficult. Luckily, Method Man's lungs have been training for decades.

Method Man on Talk Is Jericho
Method Man is one of the founding members of the Wu Tang Clan, the co-host of the new TBS TV show, "Drop The Mic," and played himself on the Netflix Marvel series, "Luke Cage." He's got the 411 on all that! Plus, stories from Wu Tang's early days, how he got his name, meeting Eazy-E, TuPac's murder, and hanging with Biggie. You'll hear Method's take on the whole East Coast vs West Coast rap rivalry! And he's a huge pro-wrestling fan (since childhood), and he's got a real good reason why Rowdy Roddy Piper is "his guy."

Method Man Plucked To Play Referee On Battle Rap Show "Drop The Mic"
Wu-Tang Clan pioneer Method Man has been tapped to host a new TBS series, Drop The Mic, a spin-off of James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke. Drop the Mic is already a viral, digital success as an ongoing popular segment on The Late Late Show with James Corden. The newly hatched version enlists entertainers from all over the world to engage in good old-fashioned rap battles, and finds Mr. Meth and model Hailey Baldwin helming the event.
The format pits four celebrities from various segments of the entertainment industry against each other and ultimately only one stands victorious.
Created by Corden, executive producer Ben Winston, Jensen Karp or “Hot Karl” (who wrote Kanye Owes Me $300 and writes many battle raps for The Late Late Show segment) and Ed Thomas, the show officially airs May 2.
SVP of Unscripted Series and Special Event Programming at TBS Michael Bloom spoke on the upcoming series.
“’Drop the Mic’ is a funny, authentic, high-energy series that brings together Hip Hop, comedy and pop culture in a way we’ve never seen before,” he said. “Method, Hailey, James, Ben and their team will make sure our celebrity competitors bring their ‘A’ game to the stage.”
Method Man, of course, is no stranger to being in front of the camera. In addition to his countless music videos with Wu-Tang, Redman and a plethora of others, he’s also appeared on the big screen in movies like How High, Soul Plane, Garden State, Trainwreck with Amy Schumer and Key & Peele’s Keanu.

Method Man & Ghostface’s Collabo With Hanz On Will Leave You Looking Like… (Audio)
Two weeks ago, Wu-Tang Clan affiliate Hanz On dropped “Big Sky,” a big-body record featuring longtime collaborator Method Man. As if that wasn’t enough, today (March 10), the two are back, only this time the one and only Ghostface Killah joins in on the fun.
Premiering at 2DopeBoyz, “Smoke Like We Do” is about getting lifted, and both Killer Bees deliver sky-high bars. “The scientifical mathematical/God made the smoke from the earth, this all natural,” rhymes Tony Starks, who is first up to bat. Highlighting cannabis’ ability to help increase “the wise minds of the scholars” and “increase tax dollars,” Ghost’ touts his as the best around. For his part, Hanz On lists his favorite strains before rapping “Hanz On be smokin’ so much booger, it’s berserk.” Championing “hash from Afghanistan,” Hannibal The Great proves his appetite is interested only in the best the world has to offer.
Mr. Meth closes things up, and unsurprisingly manages to make the topic cerebral and entertaining. “Light a booger, I’m blunted, my suga callin’ me suga/In love with Mary Jane, and I don’t know how to quit her/Done too much frequent flying, now I don’t know where I put her,” he spits. His verse follows a framework that is in some ways similar to Common’s “I Used to Love H.E.R.,” where human qualities are given to an inanimate object/concept. “Back in the days, I used to push her,” he says before signing off with “I’m the plug, candy man with them drugs, I got the hookup.”
“Smoke Like We Do” (which also features wigs) and “Big Sky” will both appear on Hanz On’s forthcoming album BARCA, which arrives March 17 and also features Raekwon, Inspectah Deck, and others.

Method Man Cleans House On This “Eviction” Collabo With Dave East & Max B (Audio)
Produced by Dame Grease, the song about keeping it moving (literally) has some hard drums anchoring its lush accents. Method Man, who follows Dave East, gets to work with such grace and confidence between the kicks and snares that he sounds as nimble as ever. Moreover, M-E-T-H-O-D sprinkles his verse with some O.G. wisdom, in a career that’s kept it moving through trials and triumphs, #1 albums and some extended hiatuses too.
