Happy 25th Anniversary!

25 years later, Wu-Tang’s Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) is timeless, the greatest honor an album can accomplish, earned only by aging without a wrinkle.

With their 1993 debut album, the nine-man clan created a rich, innovative labyrinth to explore and created the benchmark of culture-defining greatness. Sonically and lyrically the body of work is a neck-breaking rush through the raw cracks and crevices of every room and chamber. Wu-Tang cemented their names, lyrics, sound, and symbol in the unforeseen tomorrow by making what wasn’t in their present. By doing so, they gave hip-hop one of her greatest gifts to be passed down by the generations.

Wu-Tang Clan Drop New Line Of Rolling Papers

Wu-Tang Clan want you to smoke in style.

Wu-Tang Clan have had a legendary career, which kicked off with the drop of the classic Enter The Wu Tang 36 Chambers album, all the way back in 1993. Since then, each member has enjoyed varying degrees of success, and the Clan's brand has been a longstanding one; the Mathematics-designed logo has become a cultural icon at this point. And while the Wu-Tang rappers are all enjoying the inherent wisdom of OG status, it would appear that they're about to make another money move. The Clan is taking a foray into the paraphernalia game, announcing the arrival of their very first rolling papers, right in time for California to legalize recreational weed.

Masta Killa on Joining Wu-Tang, "Da Mystery of Chessboxin'" His 1st Rap Ever (Part 1)

Brooklyn MC, Masta Killa discusses meeting GZA back in the early 90s and how the friendship inspired him to become a rapper and eventually a member of the Wu-Tang Clan. He says at first he was just fan of hip-hop and would hang around GZA as he pursued his music.

That all changed the moment, he heard a rough version of "Protect Ya Neck" and was wowed by it even though it only had 4 of the members on it at that time. After that, he tried his hand at writing raps, and the first bars he ever wrote in his life became "Da Mystery of Chessboxin'" on 36 Chambers. Listen to Masta Kills talk the early beginnings and how it was a financial struggle recording music at first.

RZA & 36 Chambers Launch "Emperors' Treasure" Capsule Collection With The Asian Art Museum

Wu-Tang Clan member RZA and the 36 Chambers fashion brand announce a new collaboration with San Francisco's Asian Art Museum. The different parties are uniting for the Emperors’ Treasures capsule collection.

"The Asian Art Museum has given us an informative glimpse into the vast history and culture of Asian life," says RZA. "Since our company is primarily inspired by Asian culture, the exhibit intrigued us to design a line that was truly indicative of an Asian lifestyle.”

36 Chambers creative director Mustafa Shaikh adds, “We came to this partnership through our appreciation of the Emperors’ Treasures collection. Naturally, we felt it was only right that the first place we presented our collection is where we were first inspired: the Asian Art Museum.”

20 Years Ago Today, Wu-Tang Clan Bombed Atomically In A Rap Triumph (Video)

It was February 11 that Wu struck with “Triumph.” The five-plus-minute song did not sound like a carry over from 36 Chambers. The sound was enhanced and the look went from the rugged lands of Shaolin to the state of the art green-screens. Still though, the Wu was not about conforming to radio, video, or any Rap peers’ paths to #1 spots. They did it their own way.

RZA To Donate Proceeds From 36 Chambers Menswear Jacket To Charity

Wu-Tang Clan member RZA and Mustafa Shaikh announced the limited-edition launch of the 36 Chambers menswear’s Quilted Denim Motorcycle Jacket.

Of the 36 jackets made, 24 come in black and 12 come in white.

RZA and Shaikh are donating 100% of the profits of the all white jacket to The Children’s Literacy Society.

“When starting this line it was very important for us to build a charitable aspect into our company starting with the first season. With it being the holiday season we hope to encourage others to get involved by giving to a great cause, while at the same time purchasing a great jacket to wear,” states RZA.

The Children’s Literacy Society was founded by RZA’s sister Sophia Diggs. The organization provides funds and resources for reading, writing, music, and nutrition after-school programs in public schools.

“When my sister left my company to work for New York Human Resources, she came across so many adults with low level literacy skills. These people occupy our homeless shelters, prisons and are in the lowest income bracket,” RZA Children’s Literacy Society aims to bring awareness to this problem as well as offer some solutions by engaging children at a young age to discover the beauty and importance of reading and writing,” RZA explains.

Diggs adds, “I started the Children’s Literacy Society in 2009. While working in human resources I felt a strong need to do more as my heart went out to the people that were walking through my doors. Our mission is to help those at risk by instilling in them confidence and motivation to become productive and successful individuals.”

Covering the story of the Golden Dragon, Chinese calligrapher Mak Ming Chan wrote a poem for the collection. The poem, written in Chinese calligraphy, is featured on the back of the jacket.

Items from 36 Chambers include limited edition varsity jackets, suit jackets, shirts, bags, and accessories. A women’s varsity jacket will also be made available.

“We put a lot of attention into the execution of every piece of the line to ensure that each limited piece told a story,” says Mustafa Shaikh. “Everything from the embroidery work to the liner to even the hang tag, were meticulously crafted in order to tell a cohesive narrative.”

The full collection is available for purchase at 36chambers.com.
