Ghostface Killah’s Mighty Healthy Was Inspired By A Divine Force That Brought Wu Together

Earlier this month, Wu-Tang Clan released The Saga Continues. Charting at #15, the album is produced entirely by DJ Mathematics—creator of the Wu logo, and longtime touring mix-master for Method Man as well as Meth & Redman. Originally, in 2016, RZA—who executive produced the project and raps—stated that the next Wu release’s production was in the hands of Ghostface Killah. “He’s been the most prolific—the one that’s really got [his] feet on the ground in music,” RZA told Sway In The Morning less than one year ago. It is unclear what happened between then and now, other than the beats Mathematics made (using some of the same equipment RZA favored in the ’90s) impressed the gods. On Saga…, Ghostface appears on four cuts. He joined RZA and Cappadonna for a recent televised collabo performance with The Roots. However, his history with Queens’ Allah Mathematics runs deep—and alludes to some 30-year-old Wu-Tang history.

RZA's Rep Goes Off At Azealia Banks Over RZA Disses In The Media

(AllHipHop News) The RZA and Azealia Banks have been at odds for quite some time, culminating with the female singer telling the elder statesman to "drop dead." Now, the RZA's public relations representative Tresa Sanders (who will now be known as TZA) has had enough. The veteran PR has stepped into the arena to fiercely defend the honor of her client. And, if you believe this is mere work, the tone of the letter should help fix that. There is significant passion in the these words.

No Sale: Wu-Tang Clan's "Once Upon A Time In Shaolin" Still Belongs To Martin Shkreli

Wu-Tang Clan’s enigmatic album Once Upon A Time In Shaolin — owned by infamous “Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli — went up for auction on eBay last month. The two top contenders, Matt “M-Eighty” Markoff and Colorado resident Darby Welch, were (at various times) both confident they’d walk away with the rare, coveted album. But as of now, no sale has been finalized.

Markoff, a longtime Wu-Tang associate, believes Shkreli’s recent arrest put a halt on negotiations. He also questions the integrity of the auction.

“I think the ‘sale’ or Martin offering the album for sale was laced with fraudulent trolling intent from the get go,” Markoff tells HipHopDX. “From the moment I saw the album listed on eBay, I contacted him directly, provided him with my offer sheet and requested financial documents. You’re going to tell me my $1 million in cash you requested wasn’t enough to get the job done?

Deconstructing Inspectah Deck's Verse On Wu-Tang Clan's "Triumph" | Check The Rhyme

Back in 1997, Wu-Tang Clan dropped “Triumph” as the lead single for their sophomore album Wu-Tang Forever. The track features all nine members of Wu-Tang Clan plus Cappadonna, and it (along with its famous, Brett Ratner-directed video) remains a high point in the group’s catalog. The RZA-produced “Triumph” kicks off with an iconic verse from Inspectah Deck, featuring a complex rhyme scheme that is often cited as one of the best rap verses of all time.

Check out Genius contributor @Flegmatik’s color-coded breakdown of Inspectah Deck’s rhyme scheme from the song’s first verse in the video above, and read all the lyrics to Wu-Tang Clan’s “Triumph” on Genius now.
