Method Man will voice a cartoon character in "Chozen"

Method Man is stepping back into the show biz game, but this time he’s bringing his distinctive voice to the TV screen in an animated series on new channel FXX.

The show, titled “Chozen,” is the first original series that will premiere on FX’s new spinoff channel, which is directed at the 18-34 demographic and will also run some of FX’s already successful shows like “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “The League.” Meth’s new show is from the creators of “Archer” and the recently-cancelled “Eastbound & Down,” and will also star Danny McBride, Nick Swardson, Hannibal Burress, Bobby Moynihan, and more. It’ll center on a gay white rapper fresh out of jail and his attempts to survive and grab a chance at redemption.

This will be Method Man’s latest television endeavor, after multiple-season arcs on “The Wire” and “Oz,” cameos in both “Law and Order” and “CSI,” and the ill-fated “Method and Red” that followed his and Redman’s wildly successful How High film in the early 2000s. He’s also had plenty of movie roles, from Soul Plane and How High to the more recent The Sitter and Red Tails. Meth is also reportedly working on Wu-Tang’s new studio album due out this year, which will commemorate the legendary group’s 20th anniversary.
