Ghostface Gets Generous; Hands Out Cash To Homeless People In Denver

For the second day time this week, a major rapper has decided to shower money on homeless people.

Earlier this week, rapper Atlanta rapper Ralo hit the street where he threw $30,000 on a group of homeless people in a clip that drew some praise for the effort, but mostly scorn for the execution.

Ghostface took the opposite approach last night in Denver, where the rapper was performing at the Budweiser Fearfest.

Instead of making it rain on the streets of Denver, Ghostface passed out $20 bills to homeless people sleeping on the street.

Ghostface Killah’s Ironman Showcased A Rap Superhero & The Man Behind The Mask (Video)

Twenty years (October 29, 1996), Ghostface Killah released a seminal solo debut album in the form of Ironman. To that point, four Wu-Tang Clansmen (GZA, Method Man, O.D.B., and Raekwon) had all stepped to the front with solo efforts, spreading their creative darts across Rap’s board. As the flagship act signed to RZA’s Razor Sharp imprint through Epic/Sony, Killah waited patiently for his turn to strike. For much of 1996, the “W” was in the lab mapping Wu-Tang Forever, plotting the expansion of their enterprise. G.F.K. would be the only Wu member to drop during that calendar. He had a rare clear runway for landing during one of Rap’s most pivotal years. It was a transitional period for the Clan too, a time when Ghost’ could still get an entire plate of RZA beats from his mentor and brother-in-law, and go for broke in the booth—seemingly free from label pressures or commercial expectations. Whether that feat was achieved because of Starks signing to Razor Sharp, or it was a testament to the visionary bond between the band-mates, it yielded cohesive product that played like uncut dope on a 14 karat gold plated spoon.

AZEALIA BANKS NO MORE RZA BIZ ... He Betrayed Me!!

Azealia Banks is pissed at RZA for not defending her when Russell Crowe threw her out of his party, and says she's cutting him off for good ... personally and professionally.

Sources close to Banks tell TMZ ... she'd been negotiating a deal to sign with RZA's record label for the past 3 weeks. We're told RZA's rep called her this week about closing the deal, and she made it clear ... the deal is OFF.

RZA -- who invited Azealia to the party -- doesn't seem to be losing any sleep over it. His camp insists she's "full of it" when it comes to the events in Crowe's suite, and she was squarely in the wrong.

Hear Unreleased Snippets From RZA & GZA Demos That Birthed The Wu-Tang Clan (Audio)

Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA and GZA each had careers prior to 1993’s game-changing Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). While GZA’s February, 1991 Cold Chillin’/Warner Bros. Records release Words From The Genius garnered some hardcore interest, RZA (t/k/a Prince Rakeem) did not fare as well with his Tommy Boy Records maxi-single, Ooh, I Love You Rakeem. While the July of ’91 maxi included a “Wu-Tang” mix on Side B, the video single of a similar name did not blaze a path for Robert “Rakeem” Diggs as planned.

Appearing on episode #171 of The Cipher, Monica brought cassette tapes from 1991 and 1992. Included–and believed to be not previously digitized, these recordings feature post-Ooh, I Love You Rakeem RZA coming into form. In the podcast, Heads can hear snippets of RZA and GZA long before they had a Loud contract or advance. In fact, these are the recordings believed to be the very moments that led a nine-man collective to literally swarm on the labels, suits, and powers that be that did believe.

Azealia Banks — Guest Of RZA — Tossed Out Of Russell Crowe's Hotel Room

Giving up Twitter didn’t stop the drama as Azealia Banks was tossed out of actor Russell Crowe’s hotel room Saturday (October 15), according to TMZ. The New York rapper was kicked out by the Gladiator himself after she reportedly threatened to cut him and his guests at a Beverly Hills party.

Banks, who was the guest of RZA, reportedly mocked Crowe for his music selection and called him and his guests “boring white men.” When a woman at the party defended the actor, Banks went in saying, “You would love it if I broke my glass, stabbed you guys in the throat, and blood would squirt everywhere like some real Tarantino s***.” When she actually started playing with her glass, Crowe made his move to grab the Slay-Z rapper and remove her from his hotel room. He then called security to remove her from the premises.

At least four people who were in attendance gave statements about what happened. Several, including RZA, said that she used the n-word during the confrontation.

When Banks told her side of the story, she said that Crowe was the instigator and said he called her the n-word, choked her and spit on her.

But even the Wu-Tang MC says that’s not what went down.

Biggie, Method Man & Redman Are 3 Eternal Rap Phenomenons (Audio)

In the life and times of The Notorious B.I.G., outside of his Bad Boy and Junior M.A.F.I.A. families, two close associates were Method Man and Redman. Long before album plans existed from the members of Wu-Tang Clan and Def Squad, respectively, they were rolling with Biggie Smalls to concerts and around the Northeast. Meth’ made a critical early appearance on Ready To Die, while Reggie Noble was photographed beside B.I.G. and Tupac at the same time. All three were legendary early 1990s additions to the Rap scene, and everlasting ones at that.
